MARMA therapy

What is marma?

The word marma means „mysterious” „sensitive point” of vitality on the line of energy channels - nadi, at the point of concentration of prana. PunkteThe m marma is where the prana („vital energy”) sits, where the prana gathers and concentrates, from where the energy flows through subtle channels (nadis) to all the organs.
Marma therapy is an ancient Indian practice that treats various conditions by stimulating specific points on the body where muscles, joints, bones, ligaments or tendons intersect.

The marmas are precisely these special points that hold significant values for life; they are made up of muscles, nerves, veins, joints, ligaments and bones, and are connected to each other by a channel that carries energy inside the body, but emerges closer to the body's surface at certain points.
Marma points are divided into lethal points, which are used in traditional martial arts, and healing points. which can be used to treat almost all diseases, as disease is an imbalance of the body's energy.
Historians and scholars believe that acupuncture originated in India, spreading from there to China and Tibet.
Knowing these points allows the flow of elemental energy to be regulated between the so-called „full” organs - made up mainly of the earth element - and the corresponding „empty” ones - manifesting the ether element.
When you work with the marma points, you can directly influence the flow of prana in these points and thus balance the subtle physiology. This is particularly useful for opening subtle channels and restoring a balanced flow of prana throughout the body, which is used by both Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga. Yoga works with these points through pranayama and asana techniques.

THE TREATMENT OF PAIN AND DISEASE THROUGH PUNCTING, pricking, massaging or heating can be carried out not only at the specific site where the point is located, but also in correlated organs or organs connected by a nadi channel.

The aim of Marma Therapy is to restore the balance (homeostasis) of the body affected by illness or pain; to restore the patient's health or improve his or her quality of life.
